"Eotol" meaning in Old English

Proper name

IPA: /ˈe͜o.tol/
Etymology: From Proto-West Germanic [Term?] and ultimately from Latin Italia (which itself was later borrowed into Old English as Italia, a doublet of this term). It appears not to be an Anglo-Saxon-era borrowing, as it shows the marks of a lengthy chain of vowel changes that can only be explained by a native evolution from a much earlier borrowing predating the Middle Ages.
